St Stephens and St Thomas W12

It was a case of Vicar on a church roof while underneath a temporary roof. Though the work up to this point was imposing, nothing prepared the mind for the sight of the whole church roof under covers. As the rain gently fell and I went into the church as I normally would, it dawned on me that the days of buckets to catch rain drops were now in the past. How many times over the years had that been done?

The choice to put a temporary roof would prove to be a prudent one. It meant that work could proceed unimpeded by the changing weather. It took courage to climb all the way to the highest level, courage and a big ego - the roofing team all had smirks. I was just glad they were smirking while dry.
