1) Children @ St Stephen's

We have an amazing amount of children who form an integral part of our church. Last Sunday saw us receive 120 of them in total over our two Sunday services. Our hope is to ensure that each and every one of them know their value and is nurtured in God's love and ours. We all need to play our part in that. There are a few ways you could really help ensure that hope becomes a reality:

  • If you are coming with a child/young person, come early. Arriving 5-10 mins before the service starts ensures that your child is registered and ready with you for the service. It also means we can start on time together both within the service but also in their group sessions.

  • Volunteer to be part of the team. Devoting one Sunday a term to help will mean there is someone with your kindness to receive them in their groups and help them in this fledgling part of their faith journey. You become a lifetime hero. Reply to this email or speak to Lizzie at church if you sense the hero awakening.

  • If you aren't on the team to help, trust the team and come back to church. Our team will find you if your child needs you. Staying in the session if you aren't a helper only makes the team's work harder. Trust them and watch your little person grow in faith.

  • Pray for your child, the team, the sessions and our church. Our Father is their Father.

  • Give so that we can have more and improved resources to help us toward the goal of faith-fulled lives in our children.

2) Confirmations, last call for 2022.

We gathered on Tuesday for our first of three confirmation classes in preparation for the confirmation service at St Paul's Cathedral on the 5th of November. Our focus was on Sacraments. If you'd like to know what these are, or would just love to be able to receive Holy Communion at our services, why not come and grow in the knowledge of God's love and grace? The milestone is a good one and it would be great for those already on the way for you to join in.

Next Class: Tuesday @ 7:30 p.m. at St Stephen's Church.

3) All Hallows Light Party

Date: Monday the 31st of October 2022
Time: 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Loc: St Stephen's Church

On an evening where darkness is celebrated, why not come and celebrate light? We will be singing, dancing, playing games, and doing crafts and activities. A proper treat with no tricks attached. Speak to Lizzie if you'd like to know more or sign up here.

4) Newcomers' Lunch tomorrow.

Time: 12:30 p.m.
Loc: St Stephen's Vicarage, 1 Coverdale Road, W12 8JJ.

If you've recently joined St Stephen's, or would like to reconnect, come along to the vicarage for lunch tomorrow afternoon. There will be jacket potato and pudding but feel free to bring something you or someone else might like to eat. I look forward to seeing you!

Every blessing!
